Sir Julian Le Grand

Sir Julian Le Grand is a professor of social policy at the Marshall Institute at the London School of Economics.

He was a Senior Policy Adviser and a principal architect of the Blair Government’s public service reforms. An economist by training, he is author, co-author or editor of over twenty books and more than a hundred academic articles. He writes regularly for the national and international press and often appears on radio and television. He has served on a multitude of public policy boards and commissions and has advised organisations including the European Commission, the World Bank and the World Health Organisation. He was named as one of the top British public intellectuals by The Guardian and Prospect and was awarded a knighthood in 2015 for services to social sciences and public service.
